H.E. Mrs Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi
- Biography
Born March 9, 1967 in South Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Madam Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi is married and mother of 5 children. She obtained her diploma (BAC) in the DRC and continued her studies in Belgium where she subsequently began a career as a nurse.
She is involved in the empowerment of Congolese women and girls, through her foundation “Fondation Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi (FDNT)”, created in May 2019.
Appointed UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador in May 2019, for the fight against gender-based violence and the empowerment of women, she was also named “World Champion for the Prevention of Conflict-Related Sexual Violence” by the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in charge of this matter, in December 2019.
