According to the constitution of the organization, membership qualification for OAFLAD is accessible for all member states of the African Union.  First Ladies who, for different reasons are no more first ladies may still contribute to the success of the organization should they choose to. At present, thirty-eight African First Ladies actively participate in the activities of the organization.
